Job Summary:

Cooks are responsible for effectively assisting the kitchen staff in daily, weekly, and monthly food service activities. The Kitchen Cook is also responsible for food preparation activities and all food presentation, as well as the service to our customers. Cooks will be responsible for preparing culinary delights for our high level clients.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent

Great understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills

Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures

Professional communication skills

Ability to take direction and work in a fast passed team environment

Willingness to become Serv/Safe certified within 90 days of hire

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for all meal preparation. Food is to be satisfactory to the Chefs expectations and standards, cooked thoroughly, served on time, presented in a visually stunning way, and must maintain the overall quality that is Onsite standard.

Responsible of quality control, tasting all items before served.

Receive weekly food and supplies, ensure products received are in sealed packages, fresh, and undamaged, not to accept damaged or out dated items, utilizing FIFO. When receiving, all items are placed in their appropriate places.

Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines as set by the Chef.

Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.

Responsible for ensuring all food items are stored in appropriate containers, dated and labeled as required to meet all Health Codes of the Federal, State, and Local governments.

Always maintains a clean work space and kitchen. Practicing clean as you go.

Always maintains good personal hygiene, hair pulled back, neatly groomed facial hair (men), clean work uniform, trimmed nails.

All foods must be maintained at appropriate temperatures before and during serving times.

Aid in food preparation as directed during meal times or for an upcoming meal or event

Clean food service area, which includes and may not be limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and washing dishes any and all areas used in dining times.
