DescriptionAccountemps is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the long-term temporary role of Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Collierville, Tennessee region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Key responsibilities
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Requirements
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ledger Reconciliations experience desired
Account reconciliation experience preferred
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
Proven knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting
Experience with Journal Entry
Command of cash reconciliations
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Experience with ERP systems
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
