What's The Job?

Working as the Cultural Arts Events Coordinator, you can expect to perform professional, administrative work in planning, implementing, organizing, supervising, and administering a variety of cultural arts programs and events. The Cultural Arts Events Coordinator serves as a member of the Cultural Arts team assisting in planning, organizing, scheduling, and directing activities and events at the Harrell Theatre. You can also expect to plan, develop, implement, and oversee cultural arts events and programs including but not limited to determining dates, times, locations, layouts, materials, and supplies; determining financial needs; build props; and recruit/train entertainment staff/volunteers. This position may require working late hours, weekends and holidays, as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

Here is what you must have to be considered for the position of Cultural Arts Events Coordinator:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Cultural Arts or Recreation Administration, Marketing, or a closely related field;
  • supplemented by three (3) years of administrative experience in cultural arts programming, event and program planning, supervising, and desktop publishing, at least one (1) of which must have been in a public relations capacity.
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • First aid and C.P.R. certification required within six (6) months of date of employment.
