insights and steer the course of a multi-million dollar line of business and
help guide executive management’s decision making process. The Business Information Consultant requires an inquisitive mindset that strives to answers questions and always be
learning more.The ideal candidate will
possess a broad set of skills and an eagerness to thrive in a close-working
team environment. The candidate should
also have a proven record for working in a multi-task environment with limited
supervision. Robust project and time
management skills are essential, as is the ability to be intellectually
flexible.This position is responsible
for serving as an expert in data analysis, reporting and formulating
recommendations and providing guidance to other data analysts. Primary duties
may include, but are not limited to:
Createsand maintains databases to track business performance.
Analyzesdata and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
Developsand analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data,utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations andanomalies.
Createsand publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports. Mayrequire taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriatediagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements intousable decision support tools.
Maymake recommendations based upon data analysis.
Providesanalytic consultation to other business areas, leadership or externalcustomers.
Dataanalysis and reporting encompasses a much higher level of complexity.
KeyDepartment Responsibilities
Generateand deliver key business insights to the business that help drive strategy
Conductanalyses to answer business questions, from simple reports to complex modelbuilds
Becomea subject matter expert on the Medicare Stars program, and identifyopportunities for growth
Coordinatewith developers and integrate external business rules with multiple internaldata streams.
Requiresa BS/BA degree in related field; minimum of 5 years’ experience; or anycombination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalentbackground.
Experiencewith relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical softwareis required. Ability to manipulate large sets of data.
Stronganalytical, organizational, presentation, and problem solving skills.
Thisjob is more focused on higher level technical expertise, mentoring staff inlower job levels, more customer facing, higher level of collaboration, work ishigher volume and/or higher risk, and modeling as compared to the Business InformationAnalyst Senior job.
