Work Shift: 1ST SHIFT (United States of America)SUMMARY:This position is responsible for assisting with environmental and safety programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This position will assist in managing facility safety programs including but not limited to: PPE, EAP, respiratory protection, fall protection, etc. This position will provide training for facility environmental tasks such as: storm water management, SPCC, CAFO, Air, used oil, etc. The role will also include routine and re-training for safety related programs including: PPE, respiratory protection, fall protection, etc. This individual will also complete routine facility safety inspections including but not limited to: respirators, fall protection, emergency shower and eye wash stations, exit lights, etc. Facility environmental inspections will be required including but not limited to: CAFO, NMP, air, waste water, storm water. This individual will act as the facility investigation lead. The position will provide direct support to supervisors and managers in performing timely, accurate and corrective action driven investigations. This person will assist in implementation of injury prevention tasks and objectives. This role will consolidate facility inspections every month and document completion dates in the ECAT compliance management system. This position is also responsible for monitoring the sites safety programs. This individual will maintain records and reports of the workplace activities to ensure that workers comply with the company policy and Safety Management System, including accidents, preventive measures and violations.REQUIREMENTS:Education & Experience: College degree (or equivalent experience) with limited experience.Accountability/Role: Entry-level position that requires a basic understanding of subject matter, concepts, and practices for a professional field (demonstrated through a college degree or significant work experience). Can work independently on routine assignments with the ability to evaluate alternatives not covered under written procedures.Special Skills: Familiarity of state or local environmental laws to ensure reporting and response to local agencies are met and business interest are protected. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook proficiency. Strong problem solving skills, data driven with and affinity for data management. Monitor leading and lagging indicators to detect performance trends. Effective verbal & writing skills to present ideas and concepts to diverse audiences from front-line to plant leadership level.Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the work day. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds). The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times. Must be willing to follow the guidelines in all Cobb Farm/Hatchery Biosecurity Standards.Physical: Physical Environment: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
