DescriptionAccountemps is looking for a Staff Accountant for a short-term temporary role. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Based in the Germantown, Tennessee region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Key responsibilities
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Requirements
Great attention to detail
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Experience with ERP systems
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Journal entries experience
experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
