Piper Companies is searching for a Quality Engineer to work as a full-time employee for a leading producer of primary aluminum products and rolled aluminum coils in North America.

Purpose

• Organize internal and external audits.

• Maintain current Quality Management Systems.

• Maintain and create PPAPs for current and new material.

• Analyze data for process improvements.

• Develop plans and execute them to improve workflows.

• Support the manufacturing department by implementing improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Job Description

• Responsible to keep up to date the Quality System Documentation.

• Responsible to maintain the internal and external audits process up to date and organize audits with internal auditors. Review effectivity of current flow status and well as design new audits.

• Responsible to oversee the established processes and report status on a weekly and monthly basis.

• Compares actual status of process against designed flows and identifies opportunities for improvement.

• Develop best practices, routines, and checks to improve production quality and rates of output.

• Strong analytical abilities to examine an organization's operating procedures and make recommendations.

• Work with outside vendors and representatives as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in the field of engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.

• At least 3 years' experience in an industrial environment working in process development, quality department, PPAP process or engineering.

• Experience as internal auditor, preferable certified, desired IATF or ISO certification.

• SPC knowledge required, preferably 6 Sigma Green Belt certified, Black Belt desired.

• Must be able to troubleshoot issues and solve problems independently (PDCA, 8D, 5Why, CAPA, Fishbone Diagram).

• Good computer skills including knowledge of MS Office Products.
