Candidates will be required to successfully pass the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB) and a Red Cross approved swim test.

Candidates will be required to take a polygraph examination.

Starting salary will not exceed $56,000. Depending on experience, a lower amount may be offered.

Candidates who have not already attended a FLETC basic police school will be required to attend the Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP), an 11 week program.

Federally commissioned law enforcement employee being trained as a physical security specialist to provide integrated security and law enforcement services. Provides comprehensive security services, including assessments of facilities to identify credible threats, and implementation and testing of countermeasures to mitigate risks. JOB DIMENSIONS:Supervisory Responsibility — NoneBudget Responsibility — Indirect - Non-compliance impacts to TVA could be millions of dollars.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:As the primary law enforcement official on assigned TVA properties, the incumbent is responsible for law enforcement duties including investigations, response to criminal incidents, and alarm response and assessment as well as coordination of law enforcement responses to other emergency incidents that may occur on TVA property. Conducts security risk and vulnerability assessments to determine facility security needs, and assist with design and planning of countermeasures ensuring that recommendations are consistent with regulatory guidelines, security standards, security best practices and TVA Police policy. Serves as the project expediter for security upgrade projects ensuring that work is consistent with project scope and design, reports project status and issues to the Critical Infrastructure Protection group. Promotes culture of security and develops positive working relationships with TVA facility tenants, and acts as the liaison with facility tenant management. Advises supervisory officials on problem areas determined by the security survey process and risk evaluations. Assists with preparation of facility emergency response and evacuation plans. Provides security officer oversight at assigned facilities, ensuring that post orders, security posture and assignments are effective and consistent and reporting any issues and recommendations to the Security Services Program Manager. Provide training to customers on security awareness, workplace violence, regulatory compliance, and emergency planning. Serves as liaison with state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies for the purpose of sharing and gathering intelligence, and for assistance in response to incidents occurring on TVA property or at TVA facilities.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education —Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study from an accredited educational institution; or equivalent education, training and experience.Experience —Must have a minimum of three years sworn law enforcement experience. Experience in security management or security countermeasures is preferred.Certification/Licenses/etc. —Must be able to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance. Must successfully complete assessments, including written competency test, psychological test, polygraph test, medical evaluation, physical efficiency battery, background investigation, drug screening, firearms qualification, and swim test.Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of all phases of the Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP) and the Physical Security Training Program (PSTP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center; successful completion of all phases of the TVAP Field Training Program and satisfactory completion of a one-year probationary period (for new outsides hires); successful completion of annual in-service and First Aid/CPR training; successful completion of annual physical fitness test; and satisfactory completion of other prescribed training after appointment.Must be at least 21 years of age; a U.S. citizen not convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, controlled substances, or any criminal activity unbecoming an officer; and must not have been dishonorably discharged from any branch of the armed forces of the United States. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
