Summary
The dispatcher position at Good Time Moving is primarily responsible for two things: 1. People 2. Property
Dispatchers provide direct support, guidance, and coaching to crew leads, drivers, and movers. Working side by side with the Director of Operations, the dispatcher will assist the Director of Operations by handling the majority of the day-to-day issues and challenges that arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the position include:
Crew Management
Ensure there are enough movers and drivers each day
Hiring and training movers
Keep accurate payroll for the movers
Keep hours spread out to keep crews happy to avoid overtime
Conduct mover meetings and facilitate mover reward program
Inventory Management
Ensure trucks are properly stocked with pads, dollies, straps, tools, and other necessary equipment
Supervise crews gathering equipment from warehouse
Oversee daily truck inventory
Track down missing equipment
Truck Management
Scheduling preventative maintenance on trucks
Truck washes and interior cleanouts
Ensure engine block heaters are plugged in (winter months)
Maintain 3 sets of keys for each truck at all times
Ensure truck boxes are locked every night
Secure rental trucks as needed and get them stocked
Track rentals and get them returned early to avoid extra charges
Move Management
Ensure that services promised to the customer are fulfilled
Move detail sheet that explains unique moving needs
Ensure crew has the necessary equipment, material, and paperwork
Get crew to the move on time
Provide support to movers in any way necessary (equipment, extra guys)
Get all moves for the day serviced
Money Management
Calculate any price adjustments, revisions, or discounts
Ensure all credit card transactions are processed
Collect all cash and checks from the drivers
Turn cash and checks in to manager
Contract Management
Bill of ladings and other digital paperwork are filled out properly and completely
All signatures have been received by the shipper
Closeout each move in the CRM software
Client Management
Make sure the clients are happy with their move
Ask the client for reviews and feedback
Report any clients, not 100% satisfied to the manager
Act as clients point of contact on the day of the move
The first line of defense after the move for potential customer service issues
Oversee furniture repairs and settlement of claims
Oversee the return of goods and completion of services
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position include:
The ability to speak clearly and concisely in English using correct grammar and pronunciation
The ability to read and write in English
The ability to maintain a neat and clean workspace
The ability to write correspondence, proposals, memoranda, and other written communications in a literate, understandable manner
The ability to understand pricing, job costing, and other mathematical calculations that must be made on a regular basis
The ability to multitask, prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively
The ability to make quick decisions
The ability to keep accurate and thorough records and files, track expenses according to procedures, and to follow all Company policies and procedures
