Job Description
Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs
Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules
Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
Performs other duties as assigned
Communicates directly with service advisors regarding the status of the service work as well as the estimated time for completion so that customers can be informed
Completes system diagnostics and full automotive troubleshooting and testing
Efficiently and accurately performs quality repair work in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Ensures that all completed repairs have gone through quality control and/or a road test

Maintains current knowledge of vehicle operation, warranties, campaigns, and other service information, such as state lemon laws and Technical Service Bulletins (TSB)
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience
Three years of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred
ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certification)
Broad scope of automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge
Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
Highly professional and dependable
Safety and customer service oriented Basic computer and internet skills
Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
