job detailsjob summary:Automation/Controls Engineer opportunity located near Knoxville, TN at a leading distributor of factory automation components. Candidates need an Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree and at least three (3) years of experience programming PLC automated equipment preferably related to the automotive industry. B.S Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred)

Understanding of process/logistics flow and material handling within an automotive manufacturing facility or warehouse environment

Ability to program PC and PLC

Proficient in AutoCAD

Experience in factory automation, especially automotive industry, and electrical/electronic components

Preferred:

Experience designing system controls for AGV Systems

Support the sales team to perform preliminary application design work, feasibility study, layout concept, and network architecture

Support the optimization of the existing process/logistic flow and strategies for material handling movement

Design of control system layout (route) using AutoCAD or Visio

Design Overall System Controls

PLC design and programming for Omron, Mitsubishi, or Allen Bradley

HMI design and programming for Proface, Omron, or Mitsubishi

Installing and Commissioning of automation controls ystems.

Support the debugging and continuous improvement of new or existing systems
