is hiring for a

Graphic Designer to contribute to our

Marketing team in

LaVergne, TN just outside Nashville. In this role, you will conceptualize, plan, design, and produce a wide range of specialized graphic solutions for all the ICG business channels. You will use a strong understanding of design principles, as well as an understanding of marketing/communication rules and guidelines, to design solutions for marketing programs and services of the company as a way to increase visibility, customer focus, and improve sales performance. You’ll use strategic (big picture) thinking, and center overall marketing design strategy around the mission of increasing Ingram’s image/identity/brand across all ICG channels. This includes developing, creating, and ensuring production of all assigned graphic projects for both print and electronic vehicles. You’ll utilize working knowledge of design software, HTML, and internet capabilities. Finally, you will work within intensive deadlines, while working under minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or year for year related experience
  • 3 years of work experience in graphic design, web design or advertising

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to use on Mac platform, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator and Quark
  • Knowledge of typography and page layout as it relates to visual communication
  • Knowledge of HTML and Web browser capabilities
  • Ability and willingness to learn new design skills and programs to keep up-to-date with modern best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivers unique, creative solutions, driven from existing corporate identity and strategy or project guidelines, by utilizing successful typography, page layout, and functional design.
  • Seeks to actively improve design solutions by examining the marketing and visual requirements of assigned projects and makes recommendations as needed. (Examines message, tone, brand, usage, etc. compared to just visual aesthetics.)
  • Participates/contributes as a team member with Marketing and Creative Director to develop graphic solutions that support the objectives/strategy of the communication vehicle.
  • Works collaboratively with other associates; providing constructive, results driven feedback/comments in order to improve the outcome of projects.
  • Presents creative work objectively, with the ability to explain how/why the creative solution meets the objective of the project.
  • Works independently to create unique creative solutions, and actively seeks areas of improvement within existing designs; as well as contributes new ideas to the department in order to improve Ingram’s presence in the industry.
  • Designs and/or coordinates the development of a wide range of print & electronic vehicles, involving a variety of integrated steps and processes.
  • Selects appropriate production media and materials, such as ink and paper, inspects proofs for accuracy and adherence to appropriate production standards.
  • Provides technical advice and guidance and serves as liaison with production personnel and print manager on design and technical graphic issues.
  • Participates in marketing and production planning sessions/meetings as required by assigned projects.
  • Prepares files for print and web, for various projects.
