Manufacturing/Production Engineer (La Vergne, Tennessee)Our client, tooling/ metal-cutting/precision metal parts, is hiring two Manufacturing. These roles are full-time, permanent. Client is opened to Contract to Hire or Direct Hire. The right candidates hired will be Engineers looking for a career the next 20-30 yrs.Job Summary:Provides technical support and problem solving for manufacturing operations. This position works within the manufacturing plant to identify opportunities and improve processes. To be successful in this role, the right Engineer should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Strong communication skills, effective with both production personnel and leadership, needed. The scope of responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer includes supporting the following areas of plant operation: Press tool design and manufacturing; Pressing, Sintering, Inspection, Grinding, Machining, Edge preparation and polishing, and Surface Preparation, including washing and blasting, and CVD coating, identification and packaging, and warehousing.Key Job Responsibilities:Ability to properly define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions using standard problem solving and data analysis tools 5-Why, A3, 8D, DMAIC, etc.Develop, improve, and standardize manufacturing processes, including corresponding documentation supporting our safety, quality, and production systems.Design manufacturing devices, including tooling, fixtures, and gauges, using CAD system to create and maintain 3-D models and drawings.Provides leadership and assistance in implementing lean manufacturing methodologies throughout the plant.Analyzes data to determine and recommend changes in method, tooling, and equipment to increase throughput, improve build quality and reduce costs.Provides input on capital projects, engineering change processes, supplier quality corrective action reports, and new product development projects.Exhibits a strong ability to manage multiple demands with a sense of urgency.Identifies and works to eliminate variability in standard manufacturing processes.Support process and equipment reliability Train and assist production employees with new manufacturing development.Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates:Minimum of 2-year technical degree and related manufacturing experience in CNC grinding, programming, machine tool design, and manufacturing processes.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering documentation.Working knowledge of CAD/CAM SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.Demonstrated experience in creative problem solving and implementing corrective actions (will train in carbides/ diamond-cutting processes but need a good Manufacturing Engineering foundation).Ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of organization.
