We invite you to connect with us today.Product EngineerPosition Summary:Manage and complete projects involving product design for improvement of performance, minimization of external warranty, addition of features, and optimization of cost. Provide product engineering support to Factory Operation.Position Responsibilities :Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Manage projects from design through implementation, using tools such as Microsoft Project, PTC ProEngineer and WindChill along with Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly techniquesCreate mechanical and electro-mechanical part and assembly concepts that meet budget and defined timeline targetsManage multiple projects at the same time working within function as well as cross-functionallyManage project schedule and be available to update team as necessary, while adjusting and adapting schedules due to business needs and prioritiesUtilize standard problem solving techniques to resolve daily production issues; implement both short and long term solutionsDevelop and implement product value engineering opportunitiesWork with sustaining engineering team to identify solutions that reflect what the customer needs to continuously focus on customer-driven innovation solutionsCollect data and draw valid conclusions in order to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, with several abstract and concrete variablesEffectively communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner at all times with all levels of employees, visitors, vendors and customersKey Competencies and Success Factors :To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be a strong written and verbal communicator, able to communicate to various audiences effectively Team oriented, must have the ability to work cohesively with others. Must possess ability to thrive in a manufacturing environment. Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.Experience and Skills Required : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline Minimum 5 years relevant work experience Ability to travel up to 10% Ability to communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner at all times with all levels of management, customers, vendors, visitors and employees Willingness to spend up to 50% of time in a plant environment Self-motivated with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete multiple tasks within specified time frames Ability to work independently and/or cooperatively and effectively in a team environment Excellent project management and facilitation skills – prefer working knowledge of Microsoft Project Organized with a strong sense of urgency Strong written and verbal communications skills Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and database software (prefer Microsoft Office Products) Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, as well as write reports Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, statistical inferences, probability, and proportions to practical situations.Allegion employees are critical to our shared success.
