Job Description: What will I be doing?Client is hiring a Lead Data Platform Engineer to help our organization's transition of new and existing big data processes to the public cloud. The lead cloud engineer will be a key role that will be responsible for performing day-to-day operations on the cloud solutions architecture team, building automation processes, supporting operational functions, and engaging with teams using cloud technologies focusing on deployments in Client's Public Cloud environment.

This engineer will be responsible for building, testing, and refining cloud processes to meet business needs. They will lead and participate on a team of individuals focused on cloud data initiatives and will mentor and provide guidance to team members through coaching, collaboration, and training.

What are we looking for? The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:• Industry experience and knowledge of AWS Components (IAM, Lambda, S3, EKS, ASG, NLB), and open-source Cloud Provisioning tools (Terraform, Ansible)• Job experience interacting with public cloud environments running both production and non-production workloads, including tuning, monitoring, and operations• Job experience leading large-scale projects and solving complex business problems• Ability to build and execute items on a multi-year roadmap To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:• 5-7 Years supporting applications in a production environment• 2 or more Years of open-source cloud provisioning tools in production cloud environments (Terraform/Ansible)• 2 or more years of AWS Experience with multi account topology• 2 or more years of industry experience with cloud monitoring and alerting (Cloudwatch, Datadog, Splunk)• 2 or more years of Scripting Experience in production environments for the purpose of improving efficiency and automation (bash, python)• 2 or more years of industry experience with large applications deployed in public cloud It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:• Bachelor's Degree, or associate degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience• Relevant public cloud certifications• Relevant certifications for open-source tools or scripting languages
