We are unable to sponsor H1b or work with third-party candidates at this time.” Job Description:- The client is looking for an experienced MySQL/MariaDB database administrator who will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of MySQL/MariaDB instances.
- The candidate will also be responsible for upgrades, backups, provisioning of database instances, and replication configuration.
- The candidate will also work closely with developers to ensure system consistency.
- Strong communication and organization skills are key for this position, along with a problem-solving aptitude.
- Provision MySQL/MariaDB instances.
- Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
- Configure/Manage MySQL/MariaDB replication.
- Handle common database administration procedures, such as configuration, maintenance, upgrades, migration, etc.
- Backup and Recovery Strategies.
- Monitor server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary.
- Prepare documentation and specifications.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with MySQL/MariaDB database management.
- Experience with replication configuration in MySQL/MariaDB.
- Experience with MariaDB HA (MariaDB Galera Cluster).
- Strong knowledge of best practices in MySQL/MariaDB.
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements.
- Knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB features, such as its event scheduler.
- Proficient in Unix/Linux.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and presentation.
