JOB OVERVIEW: This position will primarily consist of yard jockey activities with a possibility of a couple of local deliveries within a 50 miles radius of Olive Branch, MS. Duties include backing empty trailers to docks and removing loaded trailers, performing inspections on trailers and coordinating repairs with local vendor, and completing paperwork and yard checks. Will also include deliveries and pick ups in the Memphis area and positioning and moving trucks and trailers on and between properties. May include some regional loads (greater than 50 miles).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide outstanding customer service during yard jockey activities and anytime you are dealing directly with a customer.
2. Operate company owned and leased vehicles safely to facilitate shipping and receiving operations as required by our customers. Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or in tight loading dock areas. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
3. Provide written documentation regarding the movement, delivery, and sealing of our customers freight as assigned by management.
4. Will also be expected to work additional days of the week or shifts to cover shifts for others when necessary.
5. Typical shift hours: Monday through Friday on the third shift from 10PM to 6AM based on customer needs. We will require that you have the ability to work varied shifts when needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING:
Preferred yard jockey experience with extensive experience backing trailers to docks.
Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
Must have two years of verifiable CDL-A driving experience.
Must be at least 25 years of age.
