Type of Requisition: RegularClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: SecretJob Family: Database Analysis/DesignGDIT is seeking an Exchange Migration Engineer t o provide support on the Defense Enterprise Office Solution (DEOS) Cloud Service Offering contract. NOTE: This position is contingent upon contract award.The Exchange Migration Engineer will provide applied subject matter knowledge to all facets of Exchange Email migrations into M365 Exchange Online. This includes high level analysis, collection, assessment, migration, design, development, modeling, simulation, integration, installation, documentation, and implementation.Responsibilities include the following:  Serve as the technical lead for the agency’s migration fromon-prem Exchange to M365 cloud Exchange Online.

Assess all applicable Active Directory objects for incompatibilities and resolve prior to migration (including mailboxes, shared mailboxes, DLs, etc.).

Partner with other agencies to migrate user mailboxes according to project schedule and resolve issues that arise.

Review agencyExchange Onboarding Guide and ensure management and conductthose activities.

As needed,assist with extending Active Directory user identities into Azure Active Directory.

Begin training administration and records teams on the components and capabilities of M365.

Consider records compliance policies and practices asmigrated personnelmove to Exchange, OneDrive, and other M365 components.

Recommend complete design and migration process, and upon approval, performmigration processesutilizing best practices and standardand custom 3rdparty email migration tools, methods,and applications

Assists with resolving problems requiring applied knowledge of the related technical subject matter.

Train and perform knowledge transfer tonew team memberson theExchange adminand migrationteam to assist with the migration and ongoing support.

Applies principles and methods of the subject matter to specialized solutions.

Required Qualifications :Active DoD Secret clearance

8570 Level II Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) 

Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree

6years of experience (additional years of experience and/or certifications may be considered in place of education)

3+ Yearsof migration experience, preferably betweenon-premiseto Microsoft365Tenantsin a large-scale environment

Deep understanding of Microsoft Exchange 2016 & 2019structureto include: database structure; mail routing and related protocols

Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and its interaction with Active Directory

Familiarity with Exchange Online and understanding of Exchange hybrid designs and operations

Understanding of directory sync into Azure AD

Proficiency with Exchange migration and assessment tools (e.g.AvePoint)

Architectural understanding of O365 security constructs and data protections such as DLP, RMS/IRM, Azure Information Protection

Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory design and implementation options

Experience with Group Policy Management

Experience with Windows DNS and DHCP

Experience with Windows Server 2016 & 2019

Experience and strong understanding of File and Storage Services, to include Distributed File System (DFS) Replication and Namespace management

Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages

System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs

Analytical andproblem solvingskills
