TAPE is dedicated to keeping the nation safe and strong by providing technology services, training and readiness solutions as well as management consulting to the Federal government.JOB SUMMARYThe Computer Operator 1 position supports Support offices within Navy Personnel Command (NPC) PERS-3 by maintaining and providing complete and accurate personnel records and records-related information to authorized users throughout the Navy and other federal agencies.This position is one of several that will support the Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS) as the parent to Navy Personnel Command (NPC), located in Millington, TN. BUPERS/NPC FM is the primary and official manager of Navy military personnel records. BUPERS/NPC FM is tasked with maintaining and providing complete and accurate personnel records and records-related information to authorized users throughout the Navy and other federal agencies.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide basic computer and office equipment hardware support including equipment setup Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions Review error messages and make corrections during operation Maintain operating records, test run new or modified programs and assists in modifying systems or programs. 5% TravelEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent 3 years of experience in Office Management and Clerical Support Experience in setup, test and operation of office equipment Formal training or education in computer science desired Basic Microsoft Certifications is a plus Active DoD Secret Clearance requiredKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Knowledge of Windows operating system, computer setup and basic troubleshooting Ability to read and follow operating manual instructions to setup, operate, and troubleshoot office equipment Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good customer service skills.
