We Are Hiring: Virtualization / Storage Solution Architect Manager What You Will Do: The Virtualization / Storage Solution Architect Manager oversees a team of Solution Architects/Engineers to drive development of end-to-end solution architectures that are consistent with long term architectural roadmaps and standards.

Understands the enterprise architecture and domain architecture IT standards that supports the business, and the key process areas supported by the IT systems.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Direct management of a team responsible for ensuring a stable and secure technical infrastructure supporting the organizational needs including systems, server, storage, technologies
  • Ensures that the team has requisite skills to oversee work of service providers/vendors and internal development teams for developing solution architectures
  • Confirms capability and capacity of delivery teams, including service providers /vendors to meet the needs of current and forthcoming projects
  • Recommends IT enterprise strategy and policy decisions for the organization to consider based on sound business and strategic rationale
  • Provides guidance and advice to the leadership team to support strategic decision-making
  • Evaluates trends and recommends business advantages for adopting emerging technologies to enterprise architect(s), domain architect(s) and service line leadership
  • Stays abreast with technology trends and internal IT architecture standards
  • Consults and advises application teams on Virtualization Environment implementation, security and performance
  • Conduct system design activities and reviews of detailed application specifications
  • Ensure architectural solutions meet technical and functional requirements
  • Review existing environment architecture and recommend improvements and participate in engineering reviews to determine any ambiguities
  • Provide technical assistance and mentoring to staff in all aspects of Virtualization Environment Administration
  • Facilitates discussions with Service Delivery Managers and other applicable personnel to optimize the solution while minimizing TCO of the technology portfolio
  • Facilitates discussion with enterprise architecture teams and domain architects in order to understand potential alternatives (e.g., new design standards) to meet unique business requirements while complying with long term architectural roadmaps
  • Oversees the development of end-to-end solution processes and preparation of technical documents including cost estimations and implementation requirements
  • Facilitates discussion on solution options/alternatives and associated impacts
  • Communicates and interacts effectively at various levels of the organization including senior leadership, business stakeholders and technical subject matter experts
  • Facilitates resolution of issues through creative solutioning, open exchange of information and viewpoints and influence; uses negotiation skills when appropriate
  • Builds trust and respect with key stakeholders and gains support for change
  • Demonstrates proactive behaviors and self-management techniques, including but not limited to, working efficiently, demonstrating adaptability and setting goals
  • Brings appropriate individuals together to accomplish business objectives; facilitate access to critical competencies; knows who to call/involve
  • Demonstrates "big picture thinking" and ability to see how individual parts interact and fit into the whole picture
  • Demonstrates ability to think outside the box to develop new ideas, concepts and solutions to meet new requirements, unarticulated needs or existing needs

Desired Experience:
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience
  • 5+ years of professional IT management experience in a medium or large size environment
  • 3+ years of experience leading infrastructure teams
  • 3+ years of experience as a people manager
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, to work with the Executive Management of an organization
  • Experience conducting technology, trends, standards and products research
  • Solid track record in prioritizing and executing tasks when under extreme pressure
  • Experience implementing/supporting virtual environments in VMware and Hyper-V environments
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving network communication issues
  • Experience with Change Management processes and procedures
  • Above-average analytical, conceptual and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or 10 years of equivalent experience.
  • Previous IT experience in a healthcare organization is a plus.
What You Will Need: Education:
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.
Work Experience:
  • 3 years of experience required.
  • 5 years of experience preferred.
  • 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred
