Job Description
The Dietary Aide performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities, and equipment. He/she may also assist in some aspects of food preparation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures.
- Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment.
- Delivers food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas as instructed by supervisor.
- Prepares and delivers snacks.
- Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:- Some high school is required.
- Must have knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
- Must have knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
- Must have the ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified, and serve food in an appetizing manner.
- Must possess the ability to positively interact with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
