We also seek to attract a culturally and academically diverse faculty who value working with a diverse student body.Job DescriptionThe Department of University Studies invites applications for a, full-time, FALL ONLY, Lecturer faculty position (#242060). Start date for this position is August 1, 2019.Successful candidates will teach University Seminar and Successful Transition courses to first-year and transfer students. These courses are designed to equip students with tools that promote their transition to the university in a manner that leads to academic success.The successful candidate is expected to possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

-Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for teaching.

Skilled in the use of computers, internet resources, and MS Office software

-Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students in field of study

-Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.

-Ability to successfully interact professionally with students, other educators, educational institution representatives, and the general public.

-Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

-Ability and willingness to learn all software specific to Middle Tennessee State University that is required to perform duties.Required EducationAll instructors must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree.Required Related ExperienceRequired License/Registration/CertificationOther DesirableApplicants who have 2 or more years experience teaching first-year and transfer students will receive special consideration.Salary and BenefitsSalary commensurate with education and experience.
