Senior Network Engineer, Nashville, TN (Remote for most of the time, but will sometimes need to report on site for specific tasks, candidates need to be in Akron and Nashville TN markets.)
Kelly Services is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for one of our top clients Nashville, TN.Length: 11/23/2021-11/22/2022 (Contract W2) Type: Contract W2-There is no "per diem" with this position. There is no relocation budgeted for this position. If this position requires you to relocate you will be responsible for those costs. NO C2C, at this time we are not in the position to offer any type of sponsorships or VISA transfers for this position. Pay Rate: $negotiable/hr. (W2)The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, architecture, implementation, security, and support of enterprise networks that mesh with company's business requirements. This is an operational and support role and will provide systems designs, research, documentation, daily operational support, deployments, projects, and implement best practices to ensure systems are always online and available and that proposed projects are executed successfully. This role requires a service-oriented mentality and a high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned. This role requires good communication.Responsibilities:- Design, develop, recommend, document and analyze overall architecture of network systems, including hardware, software and security to meet business needs
- Provides technical expertise, strategic planning and recommendations to IT management for new technologies and network applications in response to business needs
- Isolate and resolve network related service problems, diagnose and correct problems resulting from component failure or normal use of the network
- Work effectively with vendors/managed service providers and achieve results through others
- Establish and Implement network management policies and guidelines to ensure the maximum availability of the networks
- Collaborate with other Infrastructure Teams and Application Owners in the design, implementation and support of redundant, secure network solutions
- Lead complex, large-scale network projects from initiation and planning through execution and closing
- Provide consultation for major network initiatives or incidents and assists in scoping and costing of projects
- Demonstrate well-developed communication skills and the ability to maintain positive and cooperative working relationships
- Evaluate emerging technologies against business and strategic needs
- 7-10 years professional IT work experience, preferably within a large enterprise
- Minimum 5-7 years hands-on experience in a senior network role
- Strong understanding and in-depth experience with Cisco Networking Devices
- Strong analytical and communication abilities
- Strong self-motivation and sense of ownership
- Customer focused mentality and capable of interacting with stakeholders for troubleshooting
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
- CCNA or equivalent with demonstrated knowledge and experience
- Expert knowledge of the following:
- High Availability networks utilizing Cisco Routers and Switches running IOS & NX-OS such as ISR Routers, Catalyst Switches & Nexus 9K/7K/5K
- Network Security best practices utilizing Cisco ASA Firewalls
- Routing Protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP with redistribution
- WAN technologies - MPLS, DMVPN, Site to Site VPN
- QoS (including voice prioritization)
- Experience with SD-WAN technology and deployments
- Experience in the design of distributed, high availability server-based network computing infrastructures; AWS and Azure design, build and/or operational experience. AWS or Azure Certifications are a plus
- CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent with demonstrated knowledge and experience
- Understanding and in-depth experience with ASA firewalls and/or F5 Load Balancers
- Supervisory experience in leading major projects in both an international and domestic environment.
- Strong background in documenting, managing and monitoring High Availability networks
- Experience with Cisco ISE
