We Are Hiring: We are hiring a full time Data Scientist - Health Outcomes Statistician.

The Ascension Data Sciences Institute (ADSI) was created in July 2019 with the mission of supporting Ascension in achieving its Quadruple Aim with uniquely skilled, high-performing associates who develop analyses, models and applications to enable Ascension in providing higher value healthcare and making strategic decisions. What You Will Do: We are hiring a Health Outcomes Statistician on the Patient, Physician and Programs Analytics team to support Ascension's strategic initiatives. As a Health Outcomes Statistician, you will have the opportunity to work at the confluence of value-based care and clinical operations through study design support and measurement. The Health Outcomes Statistician will collaborate with clinical stakeholders and value-based care leaders during planning of key initiatives to develop evaluation plans employing rigorous yet pragmatic approaches to measuring outcomes predominantly in real world settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Defines process and global outcome measures in alignment with initiative goals and expectations as well as operational design and implementation.
  • Consults on sample size requirements during pilot planning to ensure analytics are sufficiently powered to evaluate outcomes and support business decisions.
  • Supports retrospective outcomes analysis by designing and monitoring quasi-experimental and other study designs.
  • Integrates data from multiple sources and supports/performs complex statistical data analysis including but not limited to multivariate statistical analyses, multilevel modeling, dyadic analysis and/or coarsened exact matching analysis.
  • Partners with The Ascension Data Science Institute Research team on study design and important findings that may have broader research implications.
  • Creates publication-quality graphical and narrative representations of work products.
  • Clearly communicates study results to a broad group of business stakeholders.
What You Will Need: Education:
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.
Work Experience:
  • 3 years of experience preferred.
Additional Preferences: Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred in the area of Statistics, Biostatistics or a highly related field preferred.
Work Experience:
  • Demonstrate prior experience conducting causal evaluations and real-world studies.
  • Experience with EMR, adjudicated claims data, and national Medicare data sets is a plus.

Technical Competencies:
  • R or Python experience HIGHLY preferred.
