Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor assists the Department Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the Respiratory Therapy Department with accountability for leadership, staffing, planning, organizing and controlling, budget management, and functioning in the manager’s role in his/her absence.

  • You must supervise staff and coordinate care of patients requiring respiratory therapy.
  • Your role will collaborate with patients, families, peers, physicians and other members of the health care team in the delivery of patient care.
  • You will provides direct care to patients as required.
  • You must utilize reasoning ability/critical thinking for individual care to meet the needs of patients; communicate effectively with Physicians, patients and managers; and promote customer service initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program accredited by the AMA and the NBRC
  • Current Registered or Certified Therapist licensure by the Tennessee Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - minimum 3 years’ experience as a charge therapist.
  • Current BLS certification. Required ACLS, PALS certifications.
  • Management, supervisory and /or charge related leadership experience preferred
  • Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, guests, physicians, managers, and other employees
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • B.S. degree preferred.
  • Strong computer and math skills
