IT Backup Technical Lead

We are looking for an IT Backup Technical Lead to join our team and help us to:• develop logical and physical technical artifacts for review and certification against use within the UBS Backup estate • troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues associated with backup-related technologies, including CommVault, Networker, Data Domain and Cloud Technologies• analyze, design, and implement solutions for continuous data availability, integrity, backup / recovery and protection IP Network, WAN, LAN free (SAN) based & Cloud based data backup design and configuration (familiarity)• design and support Data protection and recovery against regulatory requirements within UBS policies and processes • provide level 3 support for UBS Operations partners, maintaining and troubleshooting issues• ensure Software Service packs or hot fix deployments are up to date for roll out to product estate• assist the Product Managers in maintaining product roadmaps and planning lifecycle management of the infrastructure estate Your team Infrastructure Core is a global organization within Group Technology Infrastructure & Security Engineering providing technology platforms to underpin our partners business applications. Our team is responsible to shape and define the backup and recovery strategy along with roadmaps; working with peers within the Service Management, Engineering and Service Delivery functions to ensure these services are delivered and operated to the required service levels.As a Backup Technical Lead you will be instrumental in the foundational Technical blocks that will help evolve and develop the UBS Backup & Recovery Services. You will be part of the Distributed Hosting Engineering and Product Services team, which has a global footprint and works with clients and wider team members spread across the world. Your expertise • ideally 5+ years working experience within Backup technologies, with Networker and/or CommVault preferred• expertise with designing, implementing, supporting and managing backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions, virtual hosting solutions, virtual networking solutions, based on VMware (vSphere, vCloud Director, NSX, SRM), Microsoft Server and Cloud services for both on/off prem • demonstrable expertise in IP networking, including expertise in routing, VLANs, VXLANs, IPv4, and knowledge of IPv6• expertise in designing, implementing, supporting, managing secure and compliant (such as different global regional regulatory compliance requirements) solutions, analyzing, and remediating solution risks, vulnerabilities, etc.• proficient with VBScript, batch scripts and PowerShell as well as Unix/Linux scripting for automating manual processes • sound knowledge of Data protection and backup recovery solutions familiarity such as using Cyber Vaulting, virtual tape, disk to disk to tape, disk to Cloud and Maintaining NDMP backups for various NAS technologies• well organized with an innate sense of how to prioritize across a complex environment• known for hitting deadlines and staying within budget About us Expert advice.
