We are looking for reliable Heavy Equipment Operators to join our construction team. Operators needed include individuals experienced in operating any of the following pieces: bulldozers, loaders, excavators, graders, off-road trucks, compactors and a rock crusher. Dozer & excavator operators must be able to read survey stakes and has the ability to operate according to the stakes or GPS navigation. Demands require experience in heavy civil construction and the ability to work under limited direction and supervision of the Project Manager/Foreman. Previous experience of at least 3 years, must be capable of demonstrating proficiency in operating equipment, have sufficient oral skills to communicate effectively with coworkers and management and good social skills.
Responsibilities:
1) Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company safety regulations. Prior to operating equipment each day inspects equipment for safe operation and assesses general maintenance needs for fluids, etc.
2) Communicates inspection findings to job foreman.
3) Ensuring equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off, or loading and unloading it. Immediately reports any safety concerns to job foreman and Project Manager.
4) Operates various heavy pieces of equipment used to excavate, move, and grade earth such as bulldozers, loaders, excavators, graders, off-road trucks, compactors and a rock crusher.
5) Interacts with construction general laborers and/or crew members who are facilitating alignment, movement, and adjustment of the equipment to complete conformation of grade specifications for the construction project.
6) Performing other construction duties as needed.
