Job Title:

Level 2: Lead Cable / Hardware Installation Technician

Level 3: Certified Lead Cable / Hardware Installation, Telco and Troubleshooting Technician

Job Type: Seasonal/Project Based

Summary by Level:

Level 2: Leads and manages a team of technicians in the installation of structured cabling, network hardware, and has the ability to work with level 2 or level 3 customer support teams in bringing up networks.

Level 3: Has the ability to design and install all types of structured cabling, telco, and fiber and has extensive network hardware installation configuration experience. The ability to work with level 2-3 support teams in bringing up networks. Ability to support with certifications and, or trade licenses as needed for compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (By Level)

Level 2:

Install network cable and network equipment in retail and office environments.

Ability to plan and layout site installations.

Pulls cables, such as coaxial, twin-ax, twisted pair, optical fiber and other cable types, through conduit, above ceilings and between floors, able to Tip/Terminate Cable

Lead and mentor other technicians as needed.

Inspects quality of work, makes repairs and instructs others by example.

Understand and apply the codes and standards per job requirements.

Performs testing and certification of installed components.

Terminates cable on cross connects, hubs, and routers.

Accurately report site conditions and provide quality deliverables.

Identify safety risks and take appropriate action.

Troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and recovery of failed IT hardware in live retail and office environments.

Work with onsite customer in a professional manner.

Understand and escalate any onsite issues to project management.

Other duties as assigned.

Level 3:

Install network cable, voice circuits, and network equipment in retail and office environments.

Ability to plan and layout site installations.

Pulls cables, such as coaxial, Voice circuits, twisted pair, optical fiber and other cable types, through conduit, above ceilings and between floors, able to Tip/Terminate Cable

Lead and mentor other technicians

Inspects quality of work, makes repairs and instructs others by example as needed

Overall Qualifications for ALL Levels:

Ability and experience to work on ladders, scissor lifts, stand on feet for long periods, bend and squat, reach high, reach low, lift 50 lbs or greater, and move larger items with work trucks or dollies.

Provide own hand tools necessary to complete project assignment.

Acceptable driving record with a valid driver's license.

Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

This work is W-2 paid work, not 1099.

We are located in Gravette, AR, and all roll outs are based from our headquarters in Northwest Arkansas.

Qualification (By Level):

Level 2:

Demonstrated ability to manage the work of others as well as complete own tasks.

Advanced computer skills.

Demonstrates ability to manage the work of others as well as complete own tasks.

Level 3:

Demonstrated proficiency installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting all standard cable types including CAT5, multi-mode and single-mode fiber optic, coaxial, voice cabling / circuit identification, including the use of cable and fiber testers including telephony tools such as butt-set and toning tools.

Advanced computer network hardware skills.

Demonstrates ability to manage the work of others as well as complete own tasks.

Education and Experience (By Level)

Level 2:

High school diploma or GED is required.

3 years verifiable experience in structured cabling and network hardware installations preferred.

BICSI, A+ and other certifications are a plus, but are not required.

Level 3:

High school diploma or GED is required.

8 years verifiable experience in structured cabling, telco and network hardware installations preferred.

Industry certifications in one or more Manufacturing and/or BICSI are required.

State licenses for low voltage work is highly desirable.
