Work Shift: 1ST SHIFT (United States of America)Responsibilities will vary from performing one procedure or process to a number of analytical or quality system procedures. Precision and accuracy in performance of the procedures and data collection is essential. Responsible for daily monitoring of product to ensure direct compliance with government regulations, HACCP, SSOP and Quality Programs. Must be able to maintain records for process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements in both production and laboratory environment. Team Member will be required to show proficiency and growth after training, including passing laboratory proficiency testing as applicable. Work activities are well defined with clearly stated directions or guidelines and most cannot be modified. Monitor through inspection assigned production line(s) for product and packaging specifications, temperatures, regulatory compliance, sanitation effectiveness and good manufacturing processes. Perform laboratory tasks including collecting, plating and reviewing various microbiological samples.Provide written reports of the monitoring results to designated management personnel. Responsible for aiding in the regulating of compliance with HACCP and SSOP rules. Perform special tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance management. Ability to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours. Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail. Must have the ability to maintain and work in aseptic laboratory environment.Must be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills which includes communicating with various people groups. For example: Must be able to receive information and be able to verbalize findings to management, USDA. Must have basic math skills which includes but not limited to addition, subtraction, averaging, and calculating percentages. General knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office Applications, including Word and Excel. Knowledge and experience with LIMS is a preferred. Candidate must have high school diploma. College level courses or degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Food Science is preferred. Preferred candidate will have background in Quality Assurance field. Laboratory experience preferred. Internal Applicants: Must not have 8 or more attendance occurrences. Internal Applicants: Must not have a Final Written Warning or Suspension on file in the last 6 months. Internal Applicants: Must be in your current position for a minimum of six (6) months unless this job is a higher class than you currently hold.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk or sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This position will work approximately 9 hours per day and potentially weekends and overtime.
