OverviewMechanic II, Plant EngineeringFull-time, 80 hours per pay period, DaysJob Objectives: Provide maintenance of Methodist Medical Center buildings and grounds, equipment and distribution lines for steam, electricity, hot water, plumbing and sanitation.Experience:Five years of progressive experience in maintenance work is required.Education/Knowledge/Skills: Must be a high school graduate; must be able to read with comprehension, write legibly, perform simple mathematic calculations, and follow oral and written instructions as required. Prior courses in blue print reading, electricity, machine shop, mathematics, plastering, construction principles, masonry and plumbing are required. Must be familiar with building maintenance techniques, equipment and operation of power plants, plumbing and hearing systems; sanitation; refrigeration; electrical systems; and fire and safety regulations and procedures. Should be familiar with work and limitations of various crafts primarily involved in building maintenance. Must be capable of working under emergency and/or stressful conditions.
