The designer will create drafted documentation associated with HVAC and Plumbing/Piping systems for a variety of facility projects. Work typically includes developing process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and layout of mechanical equipment and associated duct and piping systems. The designer will typically work in a design team environment consisting of a project manager, project engineer, and multi-discipline architectural and engineering staff to produce project design packages of drawings.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The designer will work under an engineer producing CAD documents using the basic working knowledge of the CAD software. Follow defined standards and procedures. Perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. Exercise initiative, judgment and knowledge as required in area of responsibility. Receives initial instructions from a supervisor. Technical work is checked upon completion. The position requires teamwork skills to effectively interact with other engineers located in remote offices to support the overall project.Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in CAD or Drafting Technologies would be a plus. Minimum four (4) years of experience in HVAC and plumbing/piping systems. AutoCAD experience required. Revit experience is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. US citizenship required (contract prohibits dual citizenship)Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a computer workstation. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Periodic visits to client sites require mobility around construction sites and industrial piping systems.
