Email a FriendSaveSaveApply NowPosition Description:SUMMARYProvides technical support in the production of silicon radiation detectors.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reads work assembly instructions, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, and receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Performs precision chemical etching using hazardous chemicals like acids, solvents, photoresists, polyimides and other photolithography related products. Performs delicate epoxy applications per functional and esthetic specifications. Performs metal evaporations with use of high vacuum equipment and liquid nitrogen handling. Works in yellow light, Class 100 Clean Room environment requiring Clean Room best practices wearing appropriate Clean Room attires. Operates delicate and precision instruments such as microscopes, mask aligner, ellipsometer, etc. Performs processes using very high temperature furnaces with pressurized and toxic gas handling systems. Maintains inspection records, lab logs and other pertinent lab data. Monitors quality and usage of water, chemicals and gasses used in lab. Maintains adequate supply of raw materials, such as silicon and mounting rings, chemicals, solvents, and gasses required for smooth production flow. Performs pre-ship mounting and final packaging in Test Area based on Sales orders. Performs physical inventory when required. May be required to mentor or train others. Store/stock material. Utilize Lean manufacturing principles including Kanban and visual management processes. Perform electrical/electronic testing of Detectors in vacuum.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEAssociate degree (AS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years related experience or ten years of directly related experience.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsMATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
