Purpose:i The Line Cook is responsible for consistently cooking and plating a wide variety of scratch prepared savory and sweet menu items for direct consumption by customers using processes such as slicing, dicing, scooping, pouring, frying, grilling, steaming, toasting, stacking, assembling, saucing and garnishing completed according to required service timelines, quantities, quality, food and occupational safety standardsQualifications: No degree/certificate required i ServSafe or similar food handlers card desiredNo experience required i previous restaurant, hospitality or culinary school experience preferredMinimum 16 years of age (minors 16-17 years old must provide proof of age/birth date)Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Stock, prepare and organize cook line as necessary for shift menu and volume requirementsEnsure all food items are cooked according to established recipes, menu specifications and periodic customer special instructionsSafely and correctly utilize a variety of tools, equipment and appliances including but not limited to: thermometers, knives, utensils, whisks, spatulas, ladles, scoops, tongs, squeeze bottles, hand blenders, pans, pots, ovens, ranges, grills, broilers, reach-ins, racks, etc.Ensure all variety of food items are cooked, plated and garnished correctly and consistently with high quality within service timelines requiredComply with portion sizes, cooking methods, date identification, food rotation and temperature rulesKeep walk-ins, food storage, cook line areas, equipment and tools clean and organizedAssist in control of kitchen equipment, inventory and suppliesComplete periodic equipment maintenance and deep cleaning activitiesAssist in keeping floors clean and dry using brooms, mops, iwet floori signs, etc.Assist in keeping restrooms clean including picking up and pushing down trash, wiping counters, reporting low supplies and wet floors (after placing iwet floorsi sign)Assist in stocking supplies, including occasional use of stepladderPerform work in a safe and sanitary manner, according to food handling and sanitation safety standardsCorrectly wear, sanitize and maintain all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE)Utilize all equipment carefully and according to instructions to prevent damage and injuryOther duties as assignedEssential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Performance: maintains teamwork and guest focus at all times; retains and follows instructions given throughout all work activities; abides by standards of conduct, food handling, sanitation andi safety requirements; is self-directed and able to work with minimal supervisionAttendance: has reliable transportation; arrives on time and ready to work by shift start time; works entire shift as scheduled; correctly clocks in/out utilizing POS system; works all days scheduled including holidays, weekends, and overtimeAppearance and Grooming: maintains uniform and body in clean condition; refrains from offensive odors such as excessive perfumes, colognes and body-odorDemeanor and Behavior: performs all job duties in a professional teamwork customer-oriented manner; refrains from any using any profane, obscene, harassing, threatening or otherwise inappropriate language, actions or behaviors; alerts management of any personal or witnessed problems immediatelyAttentiveness: focuses on effective completion of job duties and meeting the needs of customers and staff; refrains from distractions such as cellphones, social media, and idle chit-chat during work timePersonal Protective Equipment (PPE): utilizes all required PPE (e.g. non-slip shoes, gloves, face masks, aprons); inspects and maintains PPE in safe and sanitary conditionChemical Safety: only uses chemicals for which training has been provided; reads warning labels and Safety Data Sheets as neededWork Conditions:Working hours may include early mornings through evenings Monday through Sunday, including holidaysMajority of work involves communicating and interacting with
