Environmental Monitoring Technicians provide Environmental Monitoring (EM) services, which include viable, non-viable, and compressed gas line sampling at Customer sites.

They also provide superior Customer service by proactively communicating with Customers on a regular basis. In addition, they utilize technology to complete administrative requirements.

What You Will Do :

Perform EM services which include viable, non-viable, and compressed gas line sampling at Customer sites.

Travel to Customer sites including but not limited to laboratories, pharmaceutical production facilities, and animal research centers.

Maintain courteous and professional demeanor when working with Customers, contractors, management, and peers.

Follow Customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities and abide by all STERIS and Customer Health and Safety protocols.

Prepare Chain of Custody documents and promptly send collected samples to the appropriate lab for analysis.

Control viable media plate supplies and ensure availability for daily jobs for Technicians.

Organize EM supplies (IPA, Wipes, EM Crates & Samplers) available for Technicians.

Perform administrative duties as assigned, to ensure effective planning and utilization. This includes, but is not limited to : Communicating schedule to th office at the beginning of each week;

communicating schedule changes; computer synchronization daily; completing service reports and activities onsite; and maintaining tool and testing equipment inventory to prescribed levels as required.

Provide field certification testing support when needed.

What You Need to be Successful :

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related major highly preferred.

Valid driver’s license is required.

Ability to work flexible hours (at times outside normal business hours ) and travel as required.

Current valid driver's license.

Advanced problem solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently, with limited supervision.

Experience with navigating a computer and exposure to Microsoft Office programs.

Willingness to work in a lab, pharmaceutical production facility, animal research center, or other similar setting.
