Scope and General Purpose:
The Beach and Pool Coordinator provides excellent customer service to guests at any of the three beaches or two pools at the hotel. The Beach and Pool Coordinator ensures that outdoor activities such as snorkeling, paddle boarding, and kayaking are provided to hotel guests and their safety is paramount at all times while doing so.
Main Duties:
Check the supply of towels left by the houseman for the day. If not enough call housekeeping for more.
Distribute beach towels to hotel guests.
Distribute beach equipment to guests upon request, ensuring that children have an adult with them when utilizing equipment.
Use sign-in and sign-out sheet for all equipment usage. Write the inventory number on each piece going out, time, day and guest room number. All equipment must be signed in when returned. No exceptions.
Check guest for proper fit and wearing of fins and mask etc.
Demonstrate proper technique for all water activities. Give introductory lesson in the water with guests.
Help the guest until you are comfortable that they are familiar with the equipment and snorkeling technique.
Recommend our facilities for lunch and drinks. Offer to show guests where to go for the bar service if there is no waiter on the beach.
Be aware of all activity on the beach and pool. Watch for swimming emergencies, severe sunburns, rough horseplay and any other unsafe situations. Attend to each immediately.
Pick up loose trash around the beach and pool areas.
Sweep water and debris off the pool deck throughout the day.
At end of the day, rinse and store all equipment properly.
Pick up towels from chairs and put into bins for houseman/bellman to collect.
Education, Training, and Experience:
High School Diploma
Must be flexible with scheduling
Strong swimmer with some water sports experience a plus.
