We are seeking a SINGLE (one person), female live in caregiver for an elderly female family member. She is still mobile, but she suffers from dementia. So, we are seeking a trusted companionship for her. Preferably, this would be someone on island (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands) or someone who already had plans to visit the island.
We certainly appreciate all of the off island responses. However, no one should make travel plans to simply interview for this job. A telephone conversation is just the first step in the interview process and not a commitment.
This position would require the caregiver to be on duty primarily from 7 pm to 7am everyday (7 days a week). There will be other caregivers to provide relief in the morning. Preparation of a light meal for dinner (sandwich, or tea and crackers) and a basic breakfast (eggs & bread, or oats) would be required. Additionally, the caregiver would have to assist her with going to the bathroom, bathing, and putting on her clothes. This is really a lite duty job because she will be sleeping most of the time during the night shift.
In exchange for their services, the caregiver will receive their own furnished bedroom, free Cable TV, free use of laundry equipment (washer and dryer), and free utilities (electricity and water). Additionally, the caregiver will have the option of sharing breakfast and dinner with their client. Finally, the caregiver will also receive $1,250 per month as a stipend for their services. Various accommodations can be made for the right person.
The person for this position must have at least 5 years experience, 2 references and a background check is required. Must have own transportation. Call show contact info
