Sr. Solutions Architect- Cloud Solutions

Position Summary:

The Senior Solutions Architect contributes to the alignment of IS strategy and systems in accordance with overall company objectives. This colleague sets the architecture direction of the organization through guiding principles and roadmaps. Additionally, the Senior Solution Architect drives the cloud strategy and design aspects of the public cloud; guides application development and infrastructure teams regarding new technologies, system requirements, enterprise, solutions and architecture options.

The Details:

  • Analyze complex business needs presented by the end users and/or customers and recommends technical solutions. Provide solution designs in accordance with best practices and standards that address the business need. Collaborates and guides Solution Delivery teams to the proper technical approach to the solution
  • Contribute and govern the use of standards and frameworks for cloud applications, mobile applications, web-based applications, and middleware solutions throughout the enterprise. Review new and existing program/project architecture for compliance with IS standards, policies, and architectural plans
  • Develop and maintain an aspirational architectural roadmap, focused on use of the public cloud, for the enterprise and delivers architectural projects that align IS with business strategies. Gain organizational commitment for enterprise level architecture and infrastructure initiatives. Develop architectural metrics and reports
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the IS organization to find and enable efficiencies. Lead or participate in R&D and proof of concept activities. Stay abreast of leading-edge technologies and best practices, especially in the cloud space

Education/Credentials:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; College Degree preferred
  • In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa

Job-related Experience:

  • Customarily has at least 10 years of combined IT experience, composed of 5 or more years of hands-on development experience and 5 or more years of architecture experience
  • Experience with large heterogenous enterprise environments
  • Experience with service-based architecture or event-driven architecture (SOA or Micro-services)
  • Experience with various systems integration patterns (Messaging, Web Services, APIs, etc.)
  • Experience with domain driven design and domain-level data modeling
  • Experience with cloud-based architectures and solutions
  • Experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Healthcare preferred
