Job Description:

Come join an exciting team within Global Information Security (GIS). Cyber Security Technology (CST) is a globally distributed team responsible for cyber security innovation and architecture, engineering, solutions and capabilities development, cyber resiliency, access management engineering, data strategy, deployment maintenance, technical project management and information technology security control support.

The Data Scientist role is responsible for designing and implementing analytical tools and predictive models based on that intelligence, creating efficiencies in leveraging existing reporting data / tools, and identifying analytics and dashboards that can mitigate and manage Supervisory risk. Other responsibilities of the Data Scientist include developing analytics for risk mitigation opportunities, as well as identifying, monitoring, and communicating trends and implementing recommendations based on those trends / analysis in support of achieving goals in line with business strategy.

The ideal candidates should be comfortable during technical demonstrations and be able to discuss the specifics of algorithms and statistical methods to a broad audience.

The candidate will be supporting our cyber security functions by providing expertise in exploratory data analysis, pattern discovery and advanced analytical techniques (e.g. neural networks, deep learning).

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 3 years of professional non-internship experience
  • 2+ years in statistical computer language (Python (preferred), R, SAS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with model risk management and standards
  • Hands on experience with statistics, machine learning, NLP, data wrangling, data profiling, pattern recognition, anomaly detection, data visualization and communication
  • Experience with technologies such as Hadoop, Data streaming, SQL
  • Experience with Platforms such as Splunk, Rancher, Kubernetes, Juptyerlab
  • Previous data science related work experience and domain expertise within cyber security (preferred)
  • Solid communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complicated machine learning experiment approaches to business partners.
  • Experience in Knowledge management, ontologies, taxonomies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiar with research and innovation hypothesis theory and idea development
  • Strong Java/JavaScript skills for proof of concept development

Desired Skills:
  • An advanced degree in Engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related technical field.
  • Background in text analytics, news aggregation and natural language processing
  • Creative research techniques that yield innovative results
  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt or Six Sigma Black Belt certified (or equivalent)
  • Strong facilitation and project management skills
  • Proven ability to think strategically and execute tactically

Enterprise Role Overview:

Responsible for enabling analysis, modeling, and optimization through producing information products. Involved in the research and development efforts. Primary requirement is not related to traditional programming or systems analysis skills, but to the ability to support the creation of sophisticated, value-added analytic systems that support revenue generation, risk management, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, portfolio management, and research. These systems must overcome issues of complex data (e.g., VLDB, multi-structured, "big data", etc.) as well as deployment of advanced techniques (e.g., machine learning, text mining, statistical analysis, etc.) to deliver insights. This role often possesses a degree in hard science or another heavy quantitative business or social discipline. Able to work independently or in a team on complex projects.
