This opportunity is to assist with a post-merger technology integration program. You will work as part of a team of problem solvers helping to discover, takeover, support and then transform the Cloud and Computing infrastructure

The preferred candidate will have a balance of technical experience, soft skills, be detail oriented, able to bring complex problems to a clear resolution

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Advanced proficiency with
    • vCloud Director (10.x)
    • NSX-V (6.4.x)
    • vCenter (versions 6.5 to 7.0 U2)
    • vRealize Suite (Operations/Automation) (6.x and 8.x)
    • Hyper-Vcvf5rt
    • Nutanix

Specific Responsibilities/Functions
  • Assist with infrastructure discovery
  • Document the infrastructure's deployment architecture
  • Analyze, plan and execute an in place takeover
  • Provide post takeover support to run and maintain the

    Private Cloud environment
  • Ensure Service Level objectives are measured, tracked, reported on and attained
  • Participate in on call rotation
  • Map applications to infrastructure
  • Analyze and plan opportunities to standardize to increase consistency and reduce complexity
  • Design and utilize automated deployment processes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to improve automation, efficiency, consistency and adherence to security
  • Improve process and code for automation, monitoring, scaling and performance
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and automation incidents and work with the Cloud & Computing Services team to resolve issues
  • Identify and raise technical risks; help improve on possible points of failure in the infrastructure and/or automation
  • Facilitate root cause analysis in the event of a P1 or P2 incident to learn from mistakes and improve automation
  • Plan and perform security updates on the VMware stack
  • Provide 3 rd line support for virtual machine instances running on Private Cloud
  • Assist with 7R analysis to advise to retain, retire, relocate, rehost, etc.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • Advanced proficiency using vRealize Orchestrator, vRealize Automation, vRealize Automation Cloud Assembly and VMware Code Stream
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins
  • Solid understanding of basic principles such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, Networking, Load Balancing, etc
  • Experience with Python and/or PowerShell
  • Experience with containers and/or container orchestration such as Kubernetes is a plus
  • Experience working with large scale geographically distributed VMware environments
  • Strong networking knowledge to perform network virtualization and security using VMware NSX
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Organized and punctual, and able to prioritize according to business demand
  • Professional and positive attitude
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
