Overview

The Data Integration Manager leads a team of Data Integration Developers responsible for extracting data from various sources, transforming the data as required, and loading it to various targets (ETL.) This team develops, maintains and supports the Enterprise Data Warehouse system, corresponding data marts and data interfaces between operational systems. This team member will analyze and review complex object and data models and the metadata repository in order to structure processes and data for accuracy, efficiency and maintainability. The Data Integration Manager assists with long term strategy and planning of the Data Integration architecture as well as evaluation and implementation of new technologies.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Create complex data loading processes for Data Warehouse and operational system integration projects that satisfy all functional and technical requirements with limited supervision
  • Implement best practices, standards and procedures to encourage team consistency, efficiency and maintainability
  • Lead the creation, execution and organization of workflows, continually monitoring performance and rearranging processes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the loading process
  • Provide overall leadership, direction, management, performance criteria and evaluations for Data Integration staff
  • Responsible for team member career development, education, assignments, counseling and adherence to standards
  • Work with various levels of project managers, data modelers, software developers and system administrators to design load processes and identify potential problem areas in source systems
  • Work with internal business clients to solve data integrity issues and ensure timely data availability
  • Collaborate with the Data Administration team to understand, interpret and implement complex data integration requirements
  • Assist Database Administrators with managing and organizing database objects and with understanding the need for constant size management and infrastructure analysis
  • Perform data load monitoring and problem resolution
  • Take action to resolve recurring issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of business processes for supported business groups
  • Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices
  • Knowledgeable of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions
  • Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions
  • Working knowledge of the consumer loan business
  • Working knowledge of all system applications
  • Working knowledge of the Corporate Business solution environment
  • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment
  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (eg, ISO 27000, NIST, FFIEC, etc)
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
  • Advanced working knowledge of information systems and operations systems for supported business groups
  • Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge in Data Warehouse loading, tuning and maintenance
  • Must have expert knowledge of relational databases
  • Expert knowledge of SQL
  • Must understand XML and other hierarchical data structures
  • Must have a working understanding of various industry standard data formats and how to best incorporate them into the enterprise data integration architecture
  • Understand various types of data models and techniques for moving data in and out of those models, including OLTP, Data Vault and Dimensional (aka Star Schema) Models
  • Experience with UNIX and/or Linux is required
  • Extensive experience with ETL tools, preferably Informatica, is required
  • Experience overseeing ETL development and processes that support hybrid, multi-cloud (Azure, AWS, etc) environments
  • Knowledge of Agile framework using Scrum, Kanban w/ Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of big data concepts and technologies including, but not limited to, CDH (HDFS, HBase, etc), HPE Ezmeral Container Platform, Object storage,Parquet, Spark framework

Skills

  • Advanced ability to create and work RFC and SR tickets with Oracle On Demand, Oracle Managed Cloud Services and Oracle Support
  • Strong in the use of Microsoft Office software including strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes
  • Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Strong people skills including the ability to interact with employees at all levels
  • Must be a self-starter and able to manage the investigations function with minimal supervision
  • Advance experience with data visualization concepts and tools
  • Advanced computer skills and conversance in information technology issues
  • Ability to effectively lead, organize and supervise
  • Ability to work effectively within an ever-changing technology landscape

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred

Experience

  • Greater than 10 years of overall experience in information systems including extensive project related work on application development and Data Warehouse projects required
  • 7-10 years of data integration experience preferred #LI-TS1
