The Lead Innovation Lab Manager/ Lead Cloud Architect is a unique position that will play a key role in the Innovation Office. The Lead Innovation Lab Manager/ Lead Cloud Architect will be help s to shape early-stage innovative concepts into prototypes and experiments by using their c loud a rchitecture and d evelopment experience. This role has responsibility for managing a virtual lab /sandbox where Innovators will build and test their ideas through experiments .

This role is an excellent development opportunity where the candidate is part of a small, unique team that is executing a new innovation process at GMF. The right candidate is excited to interview our internal innovators about their ideas and then help our innovators develop the ideas into concepts that can be moved through the innovation process. Finally, the Lead Innovation Lab Manager/ Lead Cloud Architect is an enthusiast voice for the Innovation Office across all of GM Financial.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Managing the Innovation Lab 's Azure Cloud environment, including operation s and usage
  • Understanding and managing the current/incoming innovation experiments that use the Innovation Lab 's cloud resources
  • Assisting innovation teams in configuring and managing the Innovation Lab cloud to run their experiments
  • Interviewing innovation idea submitters (Innovators) about their submissions
  • Assist with developing communications documents and business cases for presentation to Innovation Steering Committee
  • Support activities across the Innovation Office's responsibilities

Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • Cloud Architect certification required, Azure Preferred (AZ-300 series), or equivalent experience
  • Strong k nowledge of Pub lic Cloud Governance frameworks, architectures, configurations, services, and solutions, specifically preferably with Microsoft Azure, but expertise with other leading Cloud platforms may be substituted.
  • Strong k nowledge in core Azure (or similar) services like Azure Kubernetes Service, Cosmo s DB, Azure Functions, Azure Storage Entities and
  • Knowledge in Azure (or similar) organizational entities such as Departments, Accounts, Subscriptions, Resource Groups and Management Groups
  • Agile methodologies
  • Experience with cloud-native and microservice architectures and an understanding of design principles for scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Experience with open source applications, frameworks, and libraries
  • PowerPoint, Other presentation software packages
  • Creating communications docs and business cases for presentation
  • 7-10 years of experience
  • 5+ years as a solutions or infrastructure architect
  • 2 + years experience architecting solutions using public cloud preferred
