Overview

The Lead IT SOX Compliance Analyst is responsible for leading IT compliance initiatives for GM Financial including complex audit management, IT governance management, SOX control management and testing. This lead analyst will be responsible for providing guidance to management on critical aspects of external and internal audit initiatives. In addition, this the lead analyst will work closely with the IT Compliance Manager and be the IT liaison for internal and external audit and assessment activities for the IT organization. A Lead Analyst is someone who is detail-oriented with an IT SOX background and experienced gaining insight into a firm's operations and control processes from the ground up with little supervision and guidance.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Manage multiple initiatives to successful implementation
  • Analyze and interpret audit requests, findings and reports to provide consultation and expert advice on how to formally respond and remediate issues
  • Document and present flaw or weakness in system security procedures, design, implementation, or internal controls
  • Evaluate and analyze complex data to assess risk and formulate sound decisions and justifications
  • Partner to understand end-to-end processes, assess risks, identify design and operating effectiveness gaps, draft, effectively communicate observations and recommendations, and assist with remediation activities
  • Execute IT SOX Compliance testing based on best practices
  • Provide consultation and expert advice to management on scope and focus of IT compliance initiatives
  • Develop, present, and communicate regular status updates for Senior Management and GM executives
  • Evaluate, improve, and maintain Sarbanes-Oxley controls, policies and IT Governance documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other applicable government regulations
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, application development lifecycle, and organizational change management
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
  • Advanced working knowledge of information systems and operations systems and databases
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes for supported business groups
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
  • Working knowledge of Azure, UNIX, Linux, Oracle, iSeries, Cisco, Windows and general IT best practices
  • Working knowledge of security and control management best practices such as COBIT, COSO, ITIL, and ISO

Skills

  • Strong in the use of Microsoft Office software including strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes
  • Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Strong people skills
  • Advance experience with data visualization concepts and tools
  • Proven ability to deliver mission critical software development projects
  • Ability to effectively lead, organize, and supervise as needed

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience required
  • Master's Degree preferred

Experience

  • 7-10 years combined experience in Information Technology, Audit and Compliance disciplines required

Licenses

  • Certification in one or more CIA, CISA, CPA, CISSP, CRISC required
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMI preferred

Working Conditions
