Overview

The IT Asset Management Analyst II - Provides guidance, under limited supervision, on hardware and software asset management for the global infrastructure environment. This includes, but is not limited to, gathering business requirements, review of current hardware and software environment, and working closely with support teams. IT Asset Management Analyst II will provide functional support to the IT Asset Manager, the business and other support teams in hardware and software inventory compliance. The IT Asset Management Analyst II will provide support in controlling and overseeing monthly and annual hardware inventory requirements, controlling and overseeing approved software inventory and compliance to avoid security risk and legal pitfalls related to hardware and software asset management by understanding and leveraging industry best practices for all IT asset types. This employee may have contact with other company departments as well as outside vendors.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Analyze business and user needs, document requirements and implement or revise new processes to improve the efficiencies in Hardware and Software asset management
  • Performing an inventory of IT hardware and reconciliation analysis on a routine basis for data centers or other GMF locations
  • Perform proactive routine compliance audits of current software entitlements and monitor license reclamation
  • Create recommendations on how to better manage and reconcile inventory and related reporting
  • Work with purchasing department, desktop, network, server, storage and telecom support teams on hardware purchases and receipt tracking
  • Submit purchase requisitions for desktop hardware and software, coordinating with purchasing and IT Support teams
  • Ensure hardware maintenance is kept up to date for hardware types and submit purchase requisitions to meet this requirement
  • Ensure software compliance is kept up to date for all license types and work with purchasing to submit requisitions to meet this requirement
  • Understand ISO best practices and strategies for better hardware/software management
  • Communicate with management and business partners on various hardware options for various desktop hardware
  • Work closely with internal business units to facilitate hardware compliance and life cycle management of all IT hardware
  • Creating customized reports and comparison to ensure accurate inventory
  • Create reports and generate metrics on various IT asset management activities within various infrastructure groups
  • Coordinate hardware reconciliation and disposal process with various support teams for CMDB data integrity, asset license harvesting and compliance accuracy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Thorough working knowledge hardware type architecture, procurement and vendor relationship management
  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, multitasking and time management skills
  • Solid Problem solving and consultative skills
  • Hardware asset management accreditation (CHAMP, CSAM and CITAD preferred or equivalent)
  • ITIL V3 accreditation

Skills

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to analyze work, set goals, develop plans of action and utilize time effectively

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred

Experience

  • 5-7 years experience in the above proficiencies required

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment subject to stressful situations
  • Flexible schedule with possibility of working long hours including weekends/holidays, occasional overtime or split shifts may be required
  • Limited travel may be required to support business needs
