A combination of education and/or related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.4 Required Data design and development using industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures while requiring limited supervision.4 Required Demonstrated experience building ETL and data streaming solutions.3 Preferred AWS Certified Database specialty or equivalent experience.3 Preferred Experience with application development and SDLC.3 Preferred Experience with web services (REST & SOAP, JSON & XML, etc.).3 Preferred Experience with API management and ESB deployment.2 Preferred Cloud-base relational and document-based database systems experience is required.The University of Texas at Austin on behalf of the Dell Medical School requires the services of one (1) Database Administrator 2, Data/Database Administration. The services will be performed on the Amazon Web Services environment maintained and supported by The University of Texas at Austin.Key responsibilities of the Data Administrator role include:Serve in a technical capacity for the selection of the best cloud-base database architecture that will support the goals of the project.Design and develop the required databases to integrate data from several disparate sources in the most efficient and effective ways to eliminate data errors while maximizing performance.Develop, maintain, create, and improve extract, transform and load (ETL) code, validation rules, fields, and scripts to support the different inbound and outbound data streams.Recommend, implement, test, and deploy new data strategies required by the project in collaboration with the project team and the Developer.Design and run automated data imports, programmatic data mapping, and data transformation using best practices and tools.Work with Developer to perform hands-on software integration activities, unit testing, integration testing and other best SDLC practices.Perform security assessments of the database systems in collaboration with the Information Security Office and make required adjustments to eliminate database vulnerabilities.Work with external teams of collaborators to understand the data characteristics of their systems and databases to inform the integrative strategies for the application development and ETL activities.Provide technical assistance for end-user troubleshooting for data errors, data quality issues, and data access and manipulation needs.Work in collaboration with the Developer and with the project team in the creation of visualizations and reports templates and translate those into live dashboards that will be accessible within the application.Develop the required documentation for the data architecture built and the databases maintained including but not limited to table specifications, metadata, data model, views, scripts, and all other data related aspects that would allow future data managers to effectively manage and make adjustments to the data architecture and database components.Perform database maintenance and monitor performance and manage updates as needed.Technical Analysis and SupportAnalyze manual and automated systems and processes.Study and translate project requirements by developing technical solutions, analyzing data flows and processes, and incorporating the University policies, procedures, and objectives.Analyze disparate information systems and develop technical solutions for integrating the systems as required.Work with all stakeholders to learn the project requirements and turn those into technical requirements.QR21025
