If so, lets talk.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesBe a critical member of our Storage Insights DevOps team!IBM Storage Insights is a cloud-based service that provides customers an unparalleled level of visibility across their storage environment to help them manage complex storage infrastructures and make cost-saving decisions. Our DevOps team manages the operations and life cycle for this offering. We are looking for a strong candidate experienced with Cassandra DB administration to serve as our Subject Matter Expert for all database related matters and help us improve our operations. Do you have experience operating Cassandra on the Cloud, including installing, configuring, performing repairs, backups, and anti-entropy? Are you comfortable troubleshooting issues until resolved, leading the team during production impacting events? Are you driven to improve processes, with a knack for developing automation? Come join our team!Job Duties:Responsibilities and skills required are those typical of operating a Cloud application in a high available environment, with the primary focus being database administration:Add/remove Cassandra nodes, perform backup & restores, set up new clusters on bare metal servers in the Cloud

Maintain production clusters hosting Cassandra nodes, including performing upgrades

Use Cassandra Reaper for anti-entropy

Monitor and assess health using MCAC exporter/Grafana

Perform 24x7 CritSit rotational coverage within DevOps Team

Investigate production issues

Work with DataStax Support

Lead Root Cause Analysis for outages

Improve DevOps processes via runbooks and automation/scripting

Maintain security compliance

Use tooling for access and performance management

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the anticipated compensation range for the position $119,000 to $222,000 is based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.SYSTEMSPROUDRequired Technical and Professional Expertise5+ years of experience with Database Administration

3+ years of experience with Cloud database infrastructure (ideally IBM Cloud)

3+ years of experience with Cassandra Administration and Operations

Demonstrated Experience with Cassandra monitoring / alerting (Prometheus exporter)

Experience with Cassandra architecture and data design

Experience with Cassandra cluster design and sizing

Experience with doing database backup/restore and anti-entropy on a cluster

Experience with automation/scripting (Python, Ansible)

Linux system administration (bare metal, security hardening, RAID, etc.)

Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting, collaborating across teams to achieve business objectives

Good oral and written communication skills

Attention to detail, proactive self-starter, and commitment to meeting deadlines

Problem solving abilities: ability to identify issues and provide solutions

Preferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseExperience with Cassandra Medusa

Working knowledge of Cassandra Reaper

Familiarity with Cloud architecture components: Kafka, object storage, load balancers

Dashboard/Performance - Grafana & Prometheus
