6 months sterile processing experience or related training.Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation and product supplies preferred.What You Will DoInspect, assemble and evaluate surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and determines need for repair/replacement.Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
Inspect instruments, equipment and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
Correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
Assist with staff training on sterile principals and the decontamination processes.
What You Will NeedLicensure / Certification / Registration:One or more of the following required:
Central Service Tech credentialed from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Central Service Tech credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:High school diploma or GED required.
