The nurse educator performs an advance practice role in the delivery of nursing care of high value to meet the needs of patients to maintain health and recover from illness. The nurse educator determines and identifies the education needs and meets those identified needs by providing appropriate education. The nurse educator functions autonomously and in collaboration with the health care team in education, consultation, recruitment, retention roles. The educator serves as a resource in the specialty area as a change agent by suggesting new or innovative approaches that result in improvement of the individual departments. The Nurse Educator participates in the orientation of new staff and identification, assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of educational needs for all staff members of Womens Services. The nurse educator performs practice role in the delivery of nursing care of high value to meet the needs of patients to maintain health and recovery from illness. The nurse educator determines and identifies education needs of the Women's services staff and meets those identified needs by providing appropriate education. The nurse educator functions autonomously and in collaboration with the health care team in education, consultation, recruitment, retention. The Nurse Educator may provide direct patient care.Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Required: Graduate of accredited nursing school with Bachelor’s Degree or higher level education. Minimum two recent years of critical care nursing experience.Preferred: Master’s of Science in Nursing. Documented experience demonstrating leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

Required: Current Texas RN License or a Compact RN license from a NCLA Compact State; Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support certification with specialization for healthcare providers.
