The Cross Enterprise Services (CES) Communications Lead is an individual contributor role and will share our passion for technology, collaboration, innovation, and excellence. The Communications Lead will drive the development of all types of communications and presentations across our product development and engineering organization within Schwab Technology Services. You will be a great fit if you are an experienced communications professional who has a passion for storytelling, attention to detail, and can translate the big picture into compelling content for a variety of audiences.

What you are good at

As a Communications Lead, you will work with team members across the organization to develop, manage, and execute communications to drive alignment, share information, and showcase the organization's innovations and advancements.
  • Experienced writer and creative storyteller who develops concise yet specific content for assigned initiatives regarding technical subjects/topics in situations where content does not exist for all levels of audiences
  • Ability to distill large amounts of complex information and synthesize into clear, easy to understand content
  • Editing and formatting content to deliver quality communications
  • Writing eloquently knowing how to tell a good story with the right message for the audience, whether through a PowerPoint deck, email, or Confluence page
  • Leading a coordinated effort among members of a cross-functional team (technology, business, and/or project stakeholders from individual contributors to senior leaders) to ensure that all goals, timelines, and expectations are clearly understood while ensuring the project stays on track and on time
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and executives in various forms of communications
  • Strong understanding of the financial services industry, ideally with experience and knowledge within a large technology organization
  • Ability to work quickly and independently but are naturally collaborative and comfortable integrating across multiple subject areas
  • Adaptable multi-tasker, with high sense of urgency

What you have

  • 7-10 years' experience supporting internal communication efforts such as corporate communications, employee communications, executive communications, and crisis communications; preferably within an IT product development environment
  • Mixture of in-house and agency/consulting experience supporting financial services companies and/or other regulated industries
  • Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal, as well as the ability to develop concise, effective, and persuasive communications tailored to specific audiences
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Excel, and Tableau skills, able to produce executive-level slides for a variety of audiences / events through visual storytelling
  • Proven ability to ensure projects are completed on time, with high quality, and as agreed upon
  • Highly resourceful and collaborative; ability to navigate and be successful in a highly matrixed organization
  • Strong influencing skills; drives alignment across organizational silos
  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization; strong executive presence
  • Ability to write technical and/or business communications
  • Self-starter, equally effective working independently and in a team, prioritizes and multi-tasks successfully
  • Thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
