Job Title: Database DeveloperLocation: Austin, TXDuration: 02 months with the possibility of extension
Position Summary:The Database Developer is responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and supporting database systems for complex high-level reporting requirements for a wide variety of applications. The Database Developer should have a solid understanding of database design, development, and management in a cloud environment, and should be able to perform quality control, database administration, transform data via ETL processes, debug and analyze code, and work with team members to ensure a high-quality end product. He/She should work both independently and as a part of a team.

Responsibilities• Provide development and administration support for analytics data services solutions in different environments, including TimeXtender, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake Gen 2, and MS SQL Server• Develop and maintain Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) scripts, SQL scripts, and ETL schedules, using TimeXtender, MS SQL Server, MS Integration Services, or Azure Data Factory• Develop and implement all database indexing, maintenance, backup, transformations, and stored procedures, utilizing SQL Management Studio or equivalent tools• Monitor scheduled ETL processes and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with owners and administrators of related systems or data sources• Lead the development of engineering artifacts documenting the system’s design and architecture, including Technical Design Document preparation and delivery• Work with business stakeholders and business analysts to fully understand business requirements and convert them into appropriate technical solutions• Contributing member of a cross-functional team in charge of delivering new features and capabilities on an iterative basis• Ability to digest existing SQL data models, data sources, and ETL processes and be able to provide recommendations for additional functionality or improvements to the existing design• Provide accurate estimates of effort required to complete assignments• Conduct reviews to ensure all code passes organizationally-mandated code reviews and audits• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database design, development, and management, preferably with a data warehousing, business intelligence, or analytics focus• Demonstrated knowledge of transactional database and data warehouse architecture, design, and development (star schema, high dimensional model, fact tables, etc.)• Deep knowledge of relational database objects and their functions• Demonstrated experience with MS SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Scripts• Strong knowledge of MS Power BI tool along with profound knowledge on query writing using DAX• Demonstrated skills and experience using and managing data resources in Azure, especially Azure Data Lake Gen 2, Azure SQL Server, Azure Analysis Services, and Azure Data Factory.• Familiarity with backup & recovery, performance tuning, and optimization.• Extensive data migration skills and working experience with ETL concepts and tools• Preferred knowledge of TimeXtender• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with all levels of the business.• Strong sense of detail, accuracy, and problem-solving.
