Genuent is hiring an Electrical Engineering Manager for our direct client in Austin, TX. This is a direct hire, mostly remote opportunity. In this position, you are required to take a hands-on approach to the position to ensure electrical engineering design methodologies support product and safety requirements, and development and sustaining processes fall within established timelines. This allows leveraging others in the company to meet and exceed department goals to ensure future success and growth in the industry. The position requires customer engagement to identify and plan for unmet needs. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical engineering recommendations and technical support on electrical engineering reviews, strategic plans, and projects
  • Manage electrical engineers ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, such as design review feedback, teardowns, failure and engineering analysis.
  • Develop and communicate status updates highlighting any potential issues, including schedule, resource costs, and risk
  • Assist with allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling
  • Manage unit and development resource estimations and help determine affordable and reliable sources for materials and tools
  • Ensure on-time product development through collaboration with other leaders to estimate reasonable and precise schedules and solve problems quickly
  • Streamline efforts while meeting scope and timing of deliverables, and maintaining effective communication
  • Create production, quality validation, and evaluation requirements and troubleshoot productivity dilemmas
  • Manage and assist team members with Mtrack system requests and allocation management
  • Responsible for the coordination with team members to maintain annual Non-Recoverable Engineer projection
  • Establish technical standards in reviews, documentations, and designs
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department, service, or laboratory
  • Manage and track IPS and FA/Quality issues escalated to the company
  • Assign issues to engineers and ensures completion of analysis, including identification of roadblocks and ensuring those are resolved
  • Anticipate staffing needs based on projected timelines, budget, and allocated work
  • Manage engineering tools, equipment and upgrades
  • Manage engineering teams and other electrical engineering staff members including interviewing hiring, orientation, and training
  • Ensure team members receive timely job performance feedback, coaching, and counseling to ensure employees are meeting expectations and adhering to company policies, procedures, and guidelines
Qualifications Required
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline (computer, electrical, mechanical) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as the lead engineer or manager of engineers
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies
  • Able to quickly assimilate to new processes technology, and/or applications
  • Strong analytical and complex-solving skills
  • Able to collaborate with other teams within and outside the organization
  • Excellent organization, time management, and critical thinking skills
  • Able to effectively communicate complex ideas and deductive reasoning
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, oral, analytical, and written skills
  • Highly self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Results oriented with the ability to make decisions quickly
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Long periods of sitting and bending over equipment
  • Use of hands including reaching
  • Work in a lab sharing office and workspace with other engineers
  • Use of protective items such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
  • Lifting of up to 20lbs
  • Job may require working outside of standard working hours to meet project deadlines and customers' needs.
